The minister of Karnataka says that western dresses are the cause of the molestation incident that happened in the New Year’s celebrations. As a result, the state government has banned western dresses for women. It has shown to be effective and apparently has improved women’s safety. When asked if the ban would have negative impacts, the minister took great offense and denied the potential for negative effects completely. If this ban does not prove successful in protecting women from attacks, it has been said that the government will resort to locking women in their houses completely.
